Seamless integration of tracking and audio
Avonic and Audio Technica teamed up for a seamless integration of their Beamforming Ceiling Array Microphone and Avonic Cameras. It’s an ideal solution for conference rooms, boardrooms, and meeting spaces both large and small.
There are two ways to integrate the ATND1061 with the Avonic PTZ cameras:
- Connect the ATND1061 tile directly with the Avonic camera. This is a single camera use for a smaller set-up.
- Integrate the ATND1061 tile with the CamDirector VoiceTracker solution. The Avonic CamDirector® Voice Tracker software utilizes directional audio information from the Audio-Technica ATND1061 microphone to determine the location of the sound source and automatically select and point the right camera at the speaker. This is a multi-camera use for various applications such as hydbrid learning, small and big meeting rooms, city councils, large conferencing, education, live events, etc.

Combining the versatile ceiling microphone Audio-Technica ATND1061 with CamDirector’s VoiceTracker AI-driven camera system ensures a fully automated AV setup. This synergy is ideal for scenarios that demand real-time, voice-based video transitions without manual intervention, ensuring a more engaging and dynamic audiovisual experience. Avonic CM70 and CM90 series cameras are compatible in the CamDirector Voice Tracker with the Shure Beamforming microphone solution.
Single camera use with the ATND1061
For smaller spaces a single microphone can be used, but it is also possible to combine multiple microphones into a single setup for larger meeting spaces to capture every person speaking in a room. With clear, natural audio that reduces distracting environmental sounds, the ATND 1061 is a state-of-the-art professional product in a familiar form factor (roughly the size of a wireless access point). The ATND1061 is easy to install, set up, and operate.
Track and beam zones
Each microphone supports a maximum of 6 simultaneous beams: One beam will cover Up to 16 Coverage Zones Five simultaneous beams will cover Up to 16 Priority Zones, and the user can set Unlimited Exclusion Zones, all to ensure the best audio tracking while minimizing distractions.
Full integrated DSP
The ATND1061 features a fully integrated DSP, otherwise known as a digital signal processor. This allows the integrator to cut down on noise in the room and customize the frequency response with an full parametric equalizer for creating ultimate audio clarity and quality while reducing background noise.
Built-in VISCA Control
The ATND1061 is the first beamforming microphone that seamlessly integrates VISCA control for directly communicating with Avonic PTZ cameras over your existing network.

What are the key benefits of integrating the audio tile tracking
Most beamforming array microphone systems only send positional data, requiring expensive additional hardware devices and software solutions to interpret this data for practical use. Audio Technica’s ATND1061 is unique in the ability to interpret the location data onboard the microphone itself, and after initial configuration, directly communicate with Avonic PTZ cameras. This makes it a highly cost effective solution that avoids the hardware costs of additional equipment and more complicated setup processes.
Technical Setup
