CM40-IP, CON300-IP enable simple, clutter-free, cost-effective implementation
Event capture and recording company Avonic today announced the CM40-IP PTZ camera and the CON300-IP serial- and IP-based controller for PTZ cameras. “There is little doubt that companies and organisations are rapidly embracing IP because of the numerous benefits it brings in terms of simplicity, flexibility, scalability and cost-effectiveness,” said Walter Harrewijn, Managing Director, Avonic.”That has created significant customer demand for IP-based PTZ cameras and camera controllers – and the CM40-IP and CON300-IP are our response. As well as adding IP functionality to the CM40 and CON300, we have made across-the board enhancements that make them an even more compelling proposition.”
The CM40-IP features 20x zoom, and is available in black or white. It includes full support for operation within an IP network. As well as dual concurrent H.264/H.265 IP very low latency streaming, the CM40-IP supports 3G-SDI, HDMI and USB 2.0 outputs. Its Panasonic CMOS sensor delivers a high SNR (signal/noise ratio) for outstanding image quality, and the camera is capable of a broad range of output formats up to 1080p60. The CM40-IP is compatible with Skype for Business, making it ideal for conference/collaboration facilities and huddle rooms. Controllable via RS485 and RS232 (and legacy protocols) as well as via IP, the camera supports PoE (Power over Ethernet) using industry standard PoE switches for clutter-free installation: a single cable provides connectivity, control and power.
A ‘privacy’ mode’ is provided that sees the camera automatically turn ‘backwards’ when not in use, providing reassurance to those present that it is not recording.
For deployment in public spaces where additional security may be required, a Kensington Lock is provided.
The CON300-IP is a development of Avonic’s very successful CM300 controller. It supports legacy cameras using RS485 and RS232 interfaces well as Avonic’s range of IP-based cameras, including the CM40-IP PTZ camera.
Up to 50 cameras can be controlled by the CON300-IP via a serial interface, and over 250 via IP. Nine presets are available for each camera, while a joystick provides 3D pan/tilt/zoom functionality. The user has direct control of iris, brightness and colour correction, and the CM300-IP supports both auto and manual focus as well as PTZ speed control.
The unit features five RS232/485 serial RJ45-style connectors, and RS485 on a Phoenix connector. A LAN RJ45 connection is also provided.
Both the CM40-IP and CON300-IP benefit from a 3-year warranty.
Announced concurrently is an addition to the range of ceiling- and wall mounts for Avonic’s growing range of PTZ cameras. In response to customer feedback, the MT200 provides a cable cover for improved aesthetics.
