Dutch television pays a visit to Avonic

PTZ camera in Lego City

“Cameras for education and video conferencing from Avonic are selling like hot cakes.” With this headline Omroep West – a regional broadcaster – started their article about our company. With the second lockdown in the Netherlands again many companies are affected by the new measures taken by the Dutch government. Avonic helps companies by adapting to this new way of life by the use of their PTZ cameras but also by outsourcing work to companies outside their own.

When our director Walter Harrewijn told to reporter that we love to play with Lego and that we even use it for the development of our PTZ cameras, he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. But it’s true. We love to play with Lego and we do use it for the development of our PTZ cameras. The colouring and structure all can be found in our very own Lego town which was built by personnel who secretly loves to play with Lego. Don’t we all? This small town helps our product developers for example by optimising body detection used in education.

Healthcare, video conferencing, education, worship and many more markets is where the PTZ cameras from Avonic are at their best. “We are proud that our products play an important role in over 28 countries. Students still get educated, people from all religions can still be part of their communion and from all over the world doctors are connected by using our PTZ cameras”, says Harrewijn. Every situation asks for a different solution and this means that products keep evolving and new applications are being devised.

We are proud that our products play an important role in over 28 countries. Students still get educated, people from all religions can still be part of their communion and from all over the world doctors are connected by using our PTZ cameras.

The high demand for PTZ cameras on top of the already rapidly growing business of Avonic asks for new personnel to keep things running smoothly. Since the first outbreak of Covid-19 on the 11th of March, the HR department from Avonic quickly took action by hiring ten people within a period of only 6 months. From engineers to marketeers in order to maintain the high standards of product quality and customer service Avonic is known for. Strange times since some of our new talents started working from home right away. Luckily we have everything in house for the best video conference possible.

It doesn’t happen very often that we get cameras in that are filming ours. Usually it is “us” doing all the work. Watch the video. Want to discover more about Avonic? Contact us at info@avonic.com and we are happy to share our story.
